How does it work?
Every move slides all tiles in one direction, equal numbers merge into their sum, and a new 2 (sometimes 4) drops into a random empty cell. The math is simple but space management is not: keeping your largest tile in one corner and clearing rows in order is the known way to avoid locking the board early.
